Hendricks Avenue Elementary PTA

As Vice President Communications, I updated the PTA website to a WordPress site to better meet the needs of school families. The change in vendors saved the organization more than $250.00 and allowed us to use a responsive template. The main feature of the website is a school calendar that parents can export to their personal calendar.

I also maintain the mailing list and email communications using MailChimp and am an administrator for the organization's Facebook page. As such, my primary goal is to grow the Facebook page and build our audience. I also provide a prompt response to messages and route to the appropriate board member.

Shadetree Garage

Shadetree Garage is a do-it-yourself garage in Mont Alto, Pennsylvania. The business had a soft opening and they were relying on word-of-mouth and flyers in the local area to spread word about this new business. As time went on, advertising efforts expanded to include a website and Facebook page.

The Shadetree Garage website is a team effort and I contributed the copy content. The trick with this copy was finding a balance between keywords and accurately describing the business. I also worked with the owner to create a Facebook page and update it with pictures and monthly specials as provided. The page is steadily gaining new likes with each post and reaching more people.

Vizergy

In the three years that I wrote for Vizergy, I worked on hundreds of projects for hotels and hotel management companies. Based on my careful attention to detail and tone, I was often given specialty projects that featured short deadlines or unusual amounts of information. I wrote the original copy for the following featured hotels:

PlantWorks

PlantWorks was a local interiorscape company based in Jacksonville, Florida. Before the company was sold in 2013, I worked with the original owners on many of their marketing campaigns. From writing and designing their simple website on WordPress to writing and editing new sales pitches, they could always count on me to lend a hand with all their writing needs.

In addition to writing and designing their simple website on WordPress, I worked with them to update their businesses profiles. This combined with the content on the website ranked them on the first or second pages of Google searches for many of the top keyword phrases. When asked how new clients heard about them, many cited the website.
